Round Hill National Park Birdlife

Round Hill National Park is an irregularly shaped 2500 km2 tract of land in western New South Wales, and is adjacent to the Nombinnie Nature Reserve. These areas are hotspots for mallee birds. It lies approx. 29 kms from the small town of Mount Hope. I camped at Lake Cargelligo, from there I travelled along the Euabalong road some 13 km out of town, past Murrin Bridge and then another 3 kms to the Tjunction with Wallenthery Road, then a left onto Mount Grace Road, a right onto Round Hill Road and followed it, subsequently entering the Round Hill National Park

Being new to the area, I found Rebecca Van Dyk an enormous help. Rebecca can be found via her web site: Lake Cargelligo Birdlife or her contact email is: lakecargelligobirds@gmail.com

Rebecca and husband Sandy have a portfolio of 219 different bird pics which can be seen via this link: Rebecca’s Bird pic portfolio

My pics from this past week’s trip are below. (Click to enlarge)
